Movie recommendations....

T'is the season to be jolly. That's it folks, it's the season for holiday movies. There have been some memorable holiday movies over the years. Too many for most people to have seen all of them. I'd like to give a few recommendations of holiday movies that are either heartwarming, funny, or make you feel as if your own family can't possibly be that bad!

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
This is my favorite holiday movie of all time! It is a hearwarming little tale of the Griswold family and their fun, old fashioned family Christmas. Unfortunately, the "fun" was lost in the chaos that follows. Cousin Eddie (played by Randy Quaid) shows up in a rust bucket RV and empties his chemical toilet in the storm sewer. Uncle Lewis burns up the tree. Snots the rottweiler chases a squirrel through the house, demolishing everything in his path. Then, the swat team arrives. If you're looking for funny, you can't go wrong with this holiday blockbuster, guaranteed to make you feel better about your own crazy holiday!

The Ref
This would have to be my second favorite Christmas movie. Starring Dennis Leary, Kevin Spacey, and an assortment of other well known actors, this is the story of Gus (played by Leary), a master thief who is pulling off the heist of his career. Unfortunately things don't go as planned, and he finds himself trapped in sub-urbia with the couple from hell. With the police on his tail, and his partner taking his sweet time finding a means of escape, Gus is forced to become referee to the Chasseur family's battles. This movie is hilarious with Leary putting forth a performance as only he can. This one's guaranteed to make you feel better about your own family and their battles.

A Christmas Story
"You'll shoot your eye out!" Everyone knows that phrase, though not everyone has seen this movie. This one is the classic tale of a boy and his desire for the perfect Christmas present, a Red Rider BB Gun. Thwarted time and again by his mother, his teacher, and finally Santa, waits patiently for Christmas morning. This one has it all, folks. This one will take you back to your own childhood, remembering what it was like to want that one perfect present.

Hilarious

To anyone who has actually owned cats, this video will be hilarious. Trust me, I've been woken up at all hours by my cat lying on my chest. I've been woken up at all hours by the cat's "mad dash" through the bedroom that somehow always manages to catch my arm with claws. I've never been hit in the face with a ball bat, though, but hey...cat's are cunning. Maybe soon....
